A localanaesthetic preparation comprising a localanaesthetic agent and 2-hydroxypropyl- beta -cyclodextrin (CDEX). Generally, the localanaesthetic agent is in the form of a conventional aqueous formulation, and CDEX is present in a concentration of 0.01 - 15 %, preferably 0.02 - 10 %. The use of 2-hydroxypropyl- beta -cyclodextrin for preparing a localanaesthetic preparation as well as a method of causing local anaesthesia in a mammal, incl. a human, are also described. |
