PURPOSE:To reduce a driving current, and discriminate failure or the like by confirming switching operation of a damping force generating mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A damping force control device has means 5 and 6 to detect a travel condition, a means A to set target damping force according to the travel condition, a solenoid valve 7 to control generating damping force variably, a means B to output a driving current to the solenoid valve 7 so as to become the target damping force according to the travel condition, a means 10 to detect the driving current of the solenoid valve 7, a means 11 to detect an operating condition of the solenoid valve 7 and a means C to judge abnormality of the solenoid valve 7 from the driving current and the operating condition when the solenoid valve 7 is switched. |
