发明名称 STACKING MACHINE
摘要 1299931 Feeding sheets GENERAL FOODS CORP 21 Jan 1970 [30 Jan 1969] 3042/70 Heading B8R In a machine for stacking sheet articles, e.g. cartons C, serially fed thereto, the sheets are fed to a magazine 6, the elevator bottom E of which is intermittently lowered as the sheet stack reaches the height of a sensor, e.g. a finger 54 which is raised by the top sheet of the stack causing a lever (62), Fig. 4 (not shown), to rotate into the path of liight directed from a source (64), Fig. 3 (not shown), to photoelectric cell (66), to accommodate more heets until a pre-determined number have been counted by a counter 5 and/or a stack of a desired height, as sensed by an elevator height detector, has formed when a signal causes separator means, e.g. transversely extending knives K, to extend across the magazine 6 to support the stack formed by subsequently fed sheets, the elevator E then being lowered continuously, as a result of this extension, taking with it the stack below the separator, to a stack discharge position. The sheets may be fed from a cutting press 2 by a fast conveyer to a slow conveyer 4 so that they overlap as they reach the magazine 6 which has reciprocating jogger plates 10 which form a plurality of neat stacks. The stacks are driven from the stack discharge position of the elevator E by pushers P into a turret T which has a vertically movable plate 124 which clamps the stacks against the bottom run of top, stationary conveyer belts 128, the turret T then being rotated to invert the stacks. The plate 124 is then retracted and the stacks transported to a station S by the conveyer belts 128 which now support the stack bottoms and are driven by a friction, e.g. rubber tyre (146) (Fig. 5, not shown) at the end of a belt drive shaft which tyre contacts a rotating belt (176). A conveyer belt 203 in the station S is actuated by a stack sensor 210. The elevator bottom E, consisting of a number of transverse bars 32 and the clamping plate 124, has rack and pinion arrangements to evenly distribute the load. The reciprocating and revolving motors which drive the conveyers, joggers, the elevator, the pusher, clamping plate and turret may be hydraulic, a fluid control system, Fig. 8 (not shown), being actuated in correct sequence and with suitable time delays by an electrical circuit, Fig. 9 (not shown). The motors may alternatively be pneumatic. The intermittent lowering of elevator E may be replaced by more continuous lowering supplemented by intermittent lowering steps.
