PURPOSE:To expand an air bag body free from the direct contact with a lid, etc., when the air bag body is expanded, improve the workability 111 the seaming work for the air bag body, use the air bag body in common for the kind of vehicle which does net require a protecting cloth by forming the protecting cloth separately from the air bag body. CONSTITUTION:A gas generator is fixed under the base plate 30 of an air bag accommodation part 22. A protecting cloth 35 which is formed separately from an air bag body 27 and protects the outside when the air bag body 27 is developed is arranged. A gas vent hole 35a corresponding to the gas injection port 27a of the air bag body 27 is formed on the protecting cloth 35. The inner peripheral edge 27b of the gas injection port 27a of the air bag body 27 and the inner peripheral edge 35b of the gas vent hole 35a of the protecting cloth 35 are fixed on the upper edge surface of the base plate 30 through a retainer 37. |
