PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst capable of efficient reduction of NOx in waste gas discharged from a plant, an automobile, etc., to N2 and excellent in durability even in the presence of moisture. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of element selected from among Pt, Ir, Rh, Ru, Pd and Au is carried on a solid acid carrier by 0.001-1.0wt.% to obtain the objective catalyst for catalytic reduction of NOx with hydrocarbon or an oxygen-contg. compd. as a reducing agent. At that time, ions of a group Ib, IIb, IIIa, IIIb, IVa, IVb, Vb, VIIa or VIII element of the Periodic Table are preferably substd. for part of the solid acid carrier or oxide of the element is preferably carried on the carrier. |
