PURPOSE:To prevent a fuel cell stack from being deteriorated by over-current, etc., by increasing and decreasing the output from a voltage stabilizer according to the results of comparison between a target current value or power value and a measured output current value or output power value. CONSTITUTION:An output value to be taken when a fuel cell 3 is operated in steady state condition is set as a target current value in a target power setting means 51 of a control means 5 for controlling a voltage stabilizer 4. Next a target output is expanded to a time function that coincides with the start speed of the cell 3 by a delay means 52 to provide the virtual output current I (t) of the cell 3. Then the present output value Im (t) of the cell 3 detected by an output power detection means 6 is calculated by a comparison means 53 and, according to the comparison results, the output from the voltage stabilizer 4 is increased and decreased by a control signal output means 54. Thus the rise speed of dc output of the cell 3 can be stored within an allowable range determined based on the characteristics of the cell 3, and also the deterioration of a fuel cell stack due to abrupt load variation can be prevented. |
