PURPOSE:To suppress a rise in the cost of the image processing system which composes an image of a character line drawing described in PDL and a natural image. CONSTITUTION:According to layout plane information on the natural image and superposition plane information showing the overlap state of both the images, a host 101 combines one of character line drawing data and discrimination information on the natural image with both the pieces of information and an encoding part 204 performs an encoding process; and then the host outputs natural image data wherein encoded image information is compressed. A printer 102 stores a test memory 208 with image information inputted from the host 101 and an image memory 209 with the natural image data and after the stored image information is decoded by a decoding part 211, code data that the discrimination information specifies are read out of the image memory 209 and decoded by a decoding part 212 according to the layout plane information. According to the layout plane information and superposition plane information, a selector 215 selects one of the decoded character line drawing data and decoded natural image data. |
