PURPOSE:To extremely easily recognize an intersection to change a route. CONSTITUTION:During travel, a front scene is caught by a video camera 4 installed at a vehicle to project a scenic image on the image plane of a display device 5, and a present position is detected by a vehicle position detecting device 3. A guide object intersection searching part 17 searches a specified guide object intersection existing on a guidance path and frontward in the proceeding direction of a vehicle from the present position of the vehicle and guidance path information stored in a guidance path memory 16. A route guide image describing part 19 calculates an arrow mark diagram showing a route at the guide object intersection, then calculates a center projected image to a specified plane of projection in a sight line coordinate system equivalent to the visual field of the video camera 4, and describes a projected image on a second V-RAM 21. The image of the second V-Ram 21 is synthesized with the scenic image, caught by the video camera 4, by a synthesizing part 23 and displayed on the image plane. |
