PURPOSE:To perform path guidance more accurately in a path guiding device for guiding a vehicle from a starting point to a destination according to an optimum path. CONSTITUTION:According to the setting of a destination, an optimum path from a starting point to the destination is computed, and the guidance instruction information of every intersection in the optimum path is computed (S1, S2). As a vehicle approaches the intersection, whether the guidance instruction information is against an image-recognized road-sign is discriminated (S7, S8). Upon discriminating no violation, the guidance instruction information prepared on the basis of the optimum path is displayed or outputted by voice (S9). Upon discriminating violation in the guidance instruction information prepared on the basis of the optimum path, on the other hand, a road with the best straight line stability at this intersection is selected out of non-violating roads to perform path guidance by display or by noise (S11, S12). |
