INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a writable information recording medium having durability by forming an Al alloy thin film containing a specified amt. of Mg as a reflecting layer. CONSTITUTION:This information recording medium 1 has a light-transmitting light-absorbing layer 12 formed on a substrate 11 and has a reflecting layer 13 and a protective layer 14 on the layer 12. This recording medium 1 is used for recording with laser light of 770-830nm wavelength. The reflecting layer consists of an Al alloy thin film containing 2.5-25wt.% Mg. The light-absorbing layer 12 contains a mixture of cyanine dyes expressed by formulae I and II. Since the Al-Mg alloy is extremely inexpensive compared to an Au reflecting layer, the production cost of the disk can be suppressed low. By adding Mg, the reflectance and corrosion resistance of an Al reflecting film can be improved.
