The combustion engine (1) incorporates a number of cylinders divided into two cylinder groups (2 and 2' respectively). The exhaust flow from one cylinder group is led to a controllable turbine (11), either with variable geometry or with bypass control (15, 16, 17), while the exhaust flow from the second cylinder group is led to a turbine (21) with fixed geometry and without bypass duct. Supercharging may thus take place in a simple, reliable and cost-effective manner. The exhaust flow through the controlled turbine will be slave-controlled, since the two cylinder groups have an air distribution pipe (5) common to them both. |
