DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DRIVER'S LICENSE IMAGE PROCESSING

PURPOSE:To decide whether or not a driver's license image can be processed in a short time by inputting the driver's license image with many gradations and making the decision by using the gradation values of the image. CONSTITUTION:The driver's license image is inputted with many gradations through an image input part 11. An image confirmation part 12 counts the numbers Ka and Kb of pixels as values which are larger N gradations and less than M gradations as to an area (a) and an area (b) of the driver's license image that is inputted with many gradations. Here, N and M are constants which are previously set based on the blue of the validation term area of the driver's license. The rate of the occupation of Ka to the total number of pixels in the area (a) and the rate of the occupation of Kb to the total number of pixels in the area (b) are calculated. Then it is decided according to a specific system whether or not the driver's license image can be processed. When the driver's license image can not be processed, that is displayed at a display part 13.
