PURPOSE:To apply the wavelength division type optical channel to either connecting method by concentrating parts which depend upon connecting methods for signal channels which make connections while performing wavelength conversion and make connections with the same wavelength as it is on a regenerating repeater circuit and a wavelength converting circuit and replacing those circuits. CONSTITUTION:The optical channels are equipped with N M-output optical signal separators 13-1-13-5 which separate inputted N series of light signals into M signal channels respectively, N M-input, N-output optical switches 15-1-15-5 which lead the separated M signal channels to one of N series of output destinations, and N-input optical signal multiplexers 16-1-16-5 which multiplex the outputs of the N M-input, N-output optical switches 15 by the N series of output destinations; and either of the wavelength converting circuits 14-1-14-20 which convert the wavelengths of the respective signals into wavelengths of signal channels to be outputted and the circuits which regenerate the respective signals directly without converting the wavelengths may be connected between the M-output optical signal separators 13 and M-input, N-output optical switches 15. |
