PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of disclination lines in the boundary of regions having different visual angle directions. CONSTITUTION:In one picture element, a liquid crystal layer 3 held between a pair of substrates 1, 2 has two liquid crystal layer regions A, B in which liquid crystal molecules have inclinations to the substrate and different orientation states and also has a vertically oriented C in which liquid crystal molecules are oriented vertically to the substrate between the liquid crystal layer regions A, B with different orientation states, that is a part in which the generation of disclination lines may occur. |
