PURPOSE:To make setting and 2nd setting of address information and network environmental information automatically and definitely without error and manual operation. CONSTITUTION:The method is provided with a setting device 4 managing definitely address information and network environmental information to use a TCP/IP network environment. Devices 1,2 requiring setting moved or subscribed newly send a message (C0NFIGreq) for information setting to the setting device 4 and the setting device 4 makes cross reference definitely between a host name and an IP address and informs the result to the devices 1,2 requiring setting being request sources.
