PURPOSE:To provide a solid reference-electrode type CO2 gas sensor which is not affected by a coexisting gas (for example, steam) in an atmosphere, can operate at a low temperature, does not require any reference gas, and is reduced in size, weight, and power consumption. CONSTITUTION:An oxide is formed at the boundary between a solid electrolyte 1 composed of an alkali-ion conductor forming dissociation equilibrium with a CO2 gas and a solid reference electrode 2 which is an electron-ion mixture conductor by directly press-contacting the electrolyte 1 and electrode 2 with each other and lead wires 5 and 8 are respectively connected to the electrolyte 1 and electrode 2. Therefore, the CO2 gas can be detected from an electromotive force generated by a chemical reaction between the oxide and CO2 gas at the boundary. |
