PURPOSE:To produce a resin coated paper type substrate for an image material with remarkably improved peelability from a cooling roll at the time of production. CONSTITUTION:This substrate for an image material has a polyethylene resin coating layer on one side of the base paper on which an image forming layer is disposed and a coating layer of a resin having film forming ability on the other side and the polyethylene resin coating layer contains high density polyethylene resin produced by a high pressure method and extracted by hexane by a specified amt. and a titanium dioxide pigment coated with an org. material.
