PURPOSE:To provide a charger for electric automobile in which the terminal of charging connector can be protected against heating or fusion at the time of charging. CONSTITUTION:Upon gripping a lever provided for a power supply side connector 2, the connector 2 is fitted intimately to a vehicle side connector 1 by means of a stay linked with the lever. A slide switch for a charging circuit in the power supply side connector 2 is normally disabled by means of a stopper plane provided for the lever and enabled when the connectors are fitted tightly. Upon turn ON of a microswitch 44 interlocked with the slide switch, a relay 90 in a charger 74 is closed to enable conduction of charging current from power supply to a battery.
