PURPOSE:To prevent ultrasonic test equipment front becoming expensive and larger in size. CONSTITUTION:In an ultrasonic flaw detecting method used for inspecting such a metallic material as the steel pipe, round bar, etc., for surface flaws and internal defects, surface waves 5 and transverse waves 6 are simultaneously generated by means of one probe 2 which is constituted so that the angle of refraction of rotary ultrasonic test equipment can become 70-80 deg. and, by respectively setting gates to the waves 5 and 6, flaw detection with the surface waves and oblique flaw detection with the transverse waves are simultaneously performed. Therefore, the equipment constitution and facility can be reduced and the rotary ultrasonic flow equipment can be reduced in cost and can be simplified. |
