METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING THE SPEED OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WHEN IDLING

Method for correcting the control of an actuator acting on the engine speed as a function of the error E=Nc-N between a set speed (Nc) and the current speed (N), and of the time derivative (E') of said error. A correction ( DELTA u) for the actuator control is derived from the addition of the first ( DELTA u1) and second ( DELTA u2) partial corrections which are functions, respectively, of the speed error (E) and the time derivative (E') of said error. These corrections are defined according to the relation position of the error value, or of the error derivative, relative to at least two predetermined values of the error (or of the error derivative), each of which has an associated predetermined value of the partial correction DELTA u1 (or DELTA u2).
