Ignition coil set for multi-cylinder internal combustion engines

An ignition coil set for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine is to be designed such that it can be assembled (installed) and made contact with easily and has a compact physical shape while having a low weight. The ignition coil set in each case has a rod-type core (13) as assemblies, which rod-type core (13) is coaxially surrounded by a primary coil (14) and secondary coil (16). All the assemblies are surrounded, with magnetic coupling, by a closed magnetic return path core (12), which is in the form of a frame, in order to form ignition units. Attachments (29) are fitted on the magnetic return path core (12) as fastening eyes for the ignition coil set. This magnetic return path core (12) is integrated in the wall of the housing (11) by plastic extrusion coating. In order to make contact with the ignition coil set, it has domes which are in the form of housing sections and have high-voltage connections, and has a central connecting plug (36) for driving the coils (14, 16) (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
