摘要 Carbonisation gases, which, within a firing channel of a furnace, are driven out of firing goods moved, preferably continuously, through the firing channel, are extracted from the firing channel and burnt in a combustion chamber with an additional supply of air. At least some of the combustion gases formed during this process is fed back into the firing channel to heat the firing goods. The carbonisation gases are sucked out of the firing channel into the combustion chamber by a partial vacuum generated during the outflow of a gaseous medium into the combustion chamber. The combustion air or a mixture of combustion air and a combustible gaseous medium can be injected into the combustion chamber. The mixture is ignited as it enters the combustion chamber. The temperature and/or quantity of the combustion gases returned to the firing channel is/are controlled as a function of the temperature of the combustion gases and/or the temperature in the firing channel. The combustion gases are fed to the firing channel in a final firing zone which extends over at most one quarter of the total length of the firing channel. The combustion gases are guided through the final firing zone to an exhaust flue in each case arranged at the end of the final firing zone.
