A method and an apparatus for the treatment of soil material which contains stones or is polluted or contaminated, such as loamy earth, are disclosed, in a first step coarser stones being separated from the earth, subsequently the earth being loosened and made pourable, and thereafter smaller stones remaining in the earth being separated from the earth.
