A belt pulley which is mounted in such a way on a shaft flange that a lateral wall section of the disc rests on the shaft flange has, on the side facing away from the shaft flange, a projection which is produced by forming and which prevents the belt pulley from being mounted the wrong way round. In particular, the projection can be produced by being partially punched out.
