A method and a device for producing an electrically conductive connection between two contact elements (32, 29), in the case of which method the two contact elements (32, 29), which are arranged such that they are superimposed on one another, are pressed against one another, by means of an energy transfer device (12) which is guided in a capillary (11) and is designed like a stamp, in order to form a contact region, and energy is applied through the energy transfer device in order to produce the connection in the contact region, a ball (32) being formed as the first contact element at the end of a wire conductor (14) which is passed into a region which is superimposed on the end cross-section (18) of the energy transfer device (12), and, subsequently, the ball being forced against a connecting surface (29) of the second contact element by the energy transfer device (12) such that said ball is deformed, and energy being applied to the ball in order to produce the connection to the second contact element.
