The video camera includes automatic tracking of the object, using a signal processing circuit (9,...17) for converting image information from each incremental area of the image into digital signals, compared with corresponding signals obtained from different images, to determine the variation in the digital data. The latter is fed to a processor (25) to allow tracking of the object by adjusting the position of the image section in the image plane. Pref. the processor uses the supplied digital data to determine the size of the object, to supply a signal to a setting device, for corresponding adjustment of the size of the image section.
