摘要 1340828 Machine tool control CINCINNATI MILACRON Inc 6 July 1972 [6 July 1971] 31808/72 Heading B3B A machine tool comprises a plurality of simultaneously rotating spindles SP1, SP2, SP3, means for advancing the spindles at the same feed rate towards a workpiece, separate sensing means 18, 20, 22 associated with each spindle for producing signals as a function of the eccentricities of each spindle; comparison means 24 for receiving said signals and producing an output 28 that is representative of the most significant magnitude of said signals resulting from each of said spindles at any instant in time, and a control mechanism responsive to said output 28 to control the feed rate of all the spindles. The sensing means 18, 20, 22 can measure in two mutually perpendicular directions at each spindle and a vector signal is derived from them. Allowance can be made for eccentricities in a free running condition of the spindles before the tools carried by the spindles engage workpieces. In one embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the analogue signals are passed through analogue/digital converters to a computer. The computer produces signals which are converted by a digital/analogue converter to control functions of the machine tool and to indicate functions on displays. The load on the motor driving the spindles may be sensed to provide an overall control in the feed rate.
