1341115 Slider positioning device MINIGRIP EUROPE AS 12 Jan 197 [12 Jan 1970] 1483/71 Heading E2S A device for the positioning of sliders 21 Fig. 4 on sliding clasp closures having interlockable elongate profiled elements e.g. rib and groove 5, 5a mounted on respective sheets of supporting material 1 which are advanced for example by roller means (7, 7a Fig. 2 not shown) in the direction F, includes a first clamp having jaws 9, 9a and a spacing member 8, Fig. 3 disposed between the jaws and having grooves 16, 16a to accommodate the closure elements such that on clamping the jaws on the supporting sheets the closure elements are immobilized against movement along the grooves. A second clamp has jaws 10, 10a having opposed grooves (17, 17a Fig. 5 not shown) dimensioned to accommodate the closure elements such that on clamping the elements are interlocked and immobilized. A pusher 13 located between the two clamps pushes each slider 21 in a direction perpendicular to the direction of advance of the closure elements and onto the elements. Movable actuating members which may include a shaft 24 with cams 26, 27, 28 operating the clamps and pusher 13, open and close the two clamps on the withdrawal and advance respectively of the pusher. The shaft may be rotated backwards and forwards for this purpose by a double-acting jack 37 and rack 38 and pin 39. The jack may be operated in phase with the advancing means, which advances the sheet and closure element intermittently. |
