Method for producing a contoured diaphragm for electroacoustic transducers such as headphones, and a transducer diaphragm produced in accordance with this method

The basis of this method is a plane diaphragm material which is subjected to pressure and heat treatment in a moulding tool having two areas of different contour. The aim is to obtain a finished transducer diaphragm having two mutually different diaphragm parts, namely a dome which will be located in the diaphragm centre and a bead which encloses this calotte annularly. To improve the treble reproduction and to keep an advantageous bass reproduction, it is proposed to use the precontoured diaphragm created after a first pressing process as an intermediate product which is again placed into a moulding tool and is there again subjected to pressure and/or heat treatment. During this second pressing process, however, the central moulding area of the moulding tool is a different one from the one which has previously been effective in the first pressing process. This is achieved by either rotating the intermediate product between the first and second pressing process in the same moulding tool or by using two moulding tools of mutually different construction in their central moulding area in the first and second pressing process.
