Method for the multi-stage coding of information

For reasons of economy, only multi-stage codes are nowadays almost invariably used in the transmission of information. In some code combinations, coding elements need to be used e.g. for characteristic state marking and can thus no longer be used for stage formation. In the present invention, this is circumvented by equipping the coding element deliberately with a redundancy stage so that it can also be used for stage coding.
