<p>The present invention provides a fast affine projection adaptive filter (100) for frequent parameter updating and fast convergence with low complexity. The adaptive filter (100) generates an echo estimate signal based on an excitation signal wherein the adaptive filter comprises a relaxed E(n-1) and E(N-1, n) generator (130) coupled to a sliding windowed fast recursive least squares (FRLS) filter (125) for generating a fast affine projection coefficient and a fast affine projection correction vector. The adaptive filter (100) further comprises a provisional filter coefficient generator (145) and a provisional echo estimate correction signal generator (150, 155) for respectively generating a provisional echo estimate signal and a provisional echo estimate correction signal that are summed up to produce the echo estimate signal.</p> |
