Process and apparatus for producing plastics mouldings

For producing plastics mouldings from thermoplastic films, the film web is heated to the temperature necessary for the moulding operation in a hot-air chamber (6) over a length which corresponds to a multiple of the film length required for one operating cycle of the mould (18). During this operation, the film web (5) is supported within the hot-air chamber (6) in such a way that it is free to expand as far as the exit point (16), on the one hand by rollers (9) mounted freely rotatably in the chamber and on the other hand by rollers (15) within a transfer branch (17) connected directly to the hot-air chamber (6). A transporting device reaching into the transfer branch conveys the film web (5), heated up to the temperature required for the moulding operation, to the mould (18), the transfer branch (17) reaching right up to the mould (18), so that there is a direct transfer of the film web out of the hot-air chamber (6) into the mould (18). <IMAGE>
