PURPOSE:To improve comfortable feeling in a housewife's work at a kitchen in particular to apply cold air to a required location under a required time by a method wherein an evaporator is of a heat exchanger of a heat accumulative type with heat accumulative agent being inserted between plate fins at a proper spacing. CONSTITUTION:When a main switch 21 is turned on, a spot cooler may start to operate. At this time, a presence or an absence of a person is detected by a human body detector 23. In case of no person, a temperature of coolant evaporation within an evaporator 14 is decreased, a heat accumulative agent 143 in a pack is cooled and condensed to store a cold heat. In turn, in case a fan 16 is operated under a low condition, air passing through an evaporator 14 is cooled and then cold air is discharged from a blowing port 12. In case a person comes near a spot cooler or a fan 16 is set to operate at its high condition, a coolant evaporation temperature of the evaporator 14 is increased a little and air passing through the evaporator 14 is cooled by the coolant and at the same time cooled by the thermal accumulative agent 143 storing cold heat and then is discharged from the blowing port 12. At this time, the cooling capacity of the spot cooler is realized as much as possible. |
