PURPOSE:To provide the titled preventive and remedy containing an anti-HSV human monoclonal antibody produced by a mouse-human hybridoma derived from a mouse myeloma cell and a human antibody-producing cell sensitized with HSV in the presence of mitogen. CONSTITUTION:A human antibody-producing cell (preferably lymphocyte collected from spleen, tonsil or adenoid) secreting or capable of secreting an antibody against herpes simplex virus (HSV) is sensitized with HSV or HSV- originated protein or glycoprotein in the presence of (20-100mug/ml of) mitogen such as pokeweed mitogen, protein A, etc., in vitro. The obtained sensitized antibody-producing cell is fused with a myeloma cell of mouse to obtain a mouse-human hybridoma. The IgG-type anti-HSV human monoclonal antibody produced by the above hybridoma, having a molecular weight of about 160,000 and specifically reactive with the cell membrane or cytoplasma of a cell infected with HSV1 or 2 is used as an active component of the objective agent. |
