Method of decontaminating radioactive contaminants-containing material characterised by the following steps: contacting material to be decontaminated with a solvent containing diluted alk. chelate agent with content of carbonated solvent thus dissolving the contaminants; separating obtained mixture which contains the dissolved contaminants from the material; and separating said dissolved contaminants from the mixture by absorption of the contaminants on inorganic ion exchange absorbents bound to magnetic particles.
