A device allowing secure attachment to or movement along a rope comprises a metal unit (1) and securely attached thereto a support plate (2) and a pivot (3) on which a double-arm lever (4), with arms of different lengths, is mounted so as to rotate. The shorter arm (5) of the lever (4) is provided with a groove, while the end face of the support plate (2) is provided with a semi-cylindrical recess (6); the groove and recess (6) face each other and together form a space for the rope (7), while a cover (8) is mounted on the pivot (3) so as to rotate and cooperate with the support plate (2).
