PURPOSE:To easily obtain a chitosan molding through a simple procedure by washing with a water-miscible organic solvent a molding formed from a liquid obtained by dissolving chitosan in an aqueous organic acid solution. CONSTITUTION:A liquid obtained by dissolving chitosan in an aqueous solution of an organic acid is dried and solidified to obtain a molding. The molding is washed with a water-miscible organic solvent to obtain the chitosan molding. Acetic acid is preferred as the acid from the standpoints of profitability and handleability. The adequate amount of the acid in the solution is about 0.2-2 equivalents to the amino groups of the chitosan. Especially preferred as the solvent from the standpoint of easiness of removal by drying from the washed molding and of recovery is methyl alcohol or acetone, both relatively low- boiling. |
