A vehicle immobilising device to prevent theft comprises a housing (1) adapted to be locked onto the steering wheel (2) of a motor vehicle and, when so locked, to extend over and enclose an arc of the wheel, a first member (5) extending from the housing and over the centre of the steering wheel and a second member (7) extending from the housing away from the steering wheel.
