<p>The purpose of the system is to provide the necessary information to vehicles which, travelling on a road in conditions of scant visibility (owing to fog, heavy rain, smoke) may find themselves suddenly facing an obstacle; it consists of a transmitter which sends signals and a computerised receiver which will translate the messages, by processing them, into simple sonic and optical signals. Characteristic elements of the invention are: frequency of the system of the order of several hundred kilohertz (the communication occurs by magnetic coupling between the field created by the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna); signal composed of pulses proportional to the velocity of the vehicle (stationary obstacle in the roadway, signal is continuous because the hazard is greater); low cost of the signalling system (a few tens of thousands of lira to make it mandatory in certain conditions. The system can be used for signalling between vehicles, stationary to mobile and mobile to stationary.</p> |
