1411630 A receptacle and stopper combination J G M PALAUDARIAS 4 Dec 1972 [3 Dec 1971] 55839/72 Heading B8T [Also in Division A4] A receptacle and stopper combination has a plastics receptacle 2 with a wall 11, a through bore 13 and a plastics stopper 1. The stopper has a boss 6, an interrupted axial bore 4 and resilient radial arms 7. The boss is sufficiently resilient to slide into the bore 13 for closure when the receptacle is out of use. When the outer end 18 of the stopper is pressed the arms 7 flex and the boss passes through the bore thereby opening a passage for liquid. When the pressure on the stopper is released, the arms 7 cause the surface 10 of the boss to act as a temporary closure against the bore seat 15. In one application a spongy body 20 may be positioned in a lower extension of the receptacle.
