PURPOSE:To provide an impregnation type cathode of which emission characteristics are improved for improving life characteristics, and which is sufficiently bearable to ion impact in an initial stage of usage for preventing deterioration of yield of initial characteristics. CONSTITUTION:An impregnation type cathode-ray tube comprises an electron emission layer comprising a heat-resistant porous metal substrate 1 in which electron emission substance 2 is impregnated. A reaction layer 3 of a metal including scandium and the electron emission substance 2 is provided as a surface layer on this electron emission layer. |
