<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently switching and output a packet having priority by setting a threshold value so that a requested quality can be established for the packet whose priority is high, and through-put can be the maximum for the packet whose priority is high in a packet switchboard. CONSTITUTION:An allowable band and an allowable packet abolition ratio guaranteed for the packet whose priority is high are inputted from a control line 16 to a threshold value setting means 14. The packet is inputted from a data line 15, the number of the packets stored in a buffer 12 at present is inputted from a control line 18, and the threshold value held in a threshold value setting means 14 is inputted from a control line 17 to a packet regulation means 13. Then, when the priority of the packet inputted to the packet regulation means 13 is high, the packet is outputted to the buffer 12 as it is. When the priority of the packet is low, the packet is abolished when the number of the packets stored in the buffer 12 at present is more than the threshold value, and the packet is outputted to the buffer 12 otherwise.</p> |
