It has an improved resistance and longevity and permits a stable formation of a film of oil between its rolling surface and its corresponding facing surface while exhibiting a long lifetime even in unfavourable lubrication conditions. The object is subjected to a heat treatment during the nitriding and is then treated to form minuscule cavities on the surface, so that the RMS surface roughness parameter is not more than 0.10 mu m and that the SK value is negative.
