摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a self routing switching device capable of performing switching with light as it is by dividing the data part of optical packet signals, inputting them to an optical amplifier means group and selectively operating optical amplifier means corresponding to an output direction. CONSTITUTION:The data part 11b of the optical packet signals 11 is branched into the data parts of at least the same number as the number of output waveguides 29a-29d by a light branching means 51 and inputted to the optical amplifier means group 53. Then, when one or more than two optical amplifier means 53a-53d corresponding to the output direction among the optical amplifier means group 53 are operated, the branched data parts amplified by the optical amplifier means 53a-53d among the branched data parts are selectively outputted to the output waveguides 29a-29d connected to the optical amplifier means 53a-53d. Thus, packets can be switched by the light and a device capable of performing the switching at the time of letting the optical packet signals 11 which entered an exchange perform self routing to a direction indicated by a header part 11a with the light as it is can be obtained.
