PURPOSE:To determine quickly whether an aged person is a diabetic or not, by detecting simultaneously the concentration of glucose and that of a hydroxybutyric acid in urine. CONSTITUTION:A glucose detecting part 2 and a hydroxybutyric acid detecting part 3 are provided on a base material 1. A detection signal from the glucose detecting part 2 is a current corresponding to the concentration of glucose in urine 21, while a detection signal from the hydroxybutyric acid detecting part 3 is a current corresponding to the concentration of a hydroxybutyric acid in the urine 21, and the currents are converted into potentials in potentiostats 14 and 16 respectively. Potential data corresponding to the potentials are sent out into a memory part 18 and stored therein temporarily. An arithmetic part 19 calls up prescribed data in addition to each potential data from the memory part 18, executes prescribed operations, determines whether a subject of an advance age is a diabetic or not and makes the result be displayed in a display part 20. |
