PURPOSE: To expand a measuring capability in drill by allowing a ground telemeter unit to communicate through a mud channel. CONSTITUTION: A down-link control signal from a ground processor 36 of a ground telemeter unit 14 is transferred to the down-link data encoder/modulator of a down-link transmitter 24. The encoder/modulator outputs the down-link control signal to the adaptive servo controller of a down-link mud pulsar as the on/off tone modulated control signal. An up-link data signal and the down- link control signal are formed in different frequency ranges, and therefore, they can be frequency-multiplexed, and simultaneously transmitted to inverse directions in a mud channel 16. Thus, a measuring capability in drill can be expanded. |
