PURPOSE:To provide a display device capable of changing display colors on a light emitting surface easily and in various ways and improving remote visibility without any structural changes when display colors are changed. CONSTITUTION:A lighting control signal is sent by a driver control circuit 12 to a driver 13 so as to alternately light, for example, red and green LED 1 and 2, to be dynamically controlled at a high frequency based on a control signal from a pulse width control circuit 14 for controlling the frequency and pulse width of a lighting signal. Then, by the lighting signal from the driver 13, the control of the LED having a longer lighting period is intensified because of an after image phenomenon and the display colors on the light emitting surface are made variable by its duty ratio. For example, a blue LED 11 is turned OFF and the red and green LED 1 and 2 are turned ON by the duty ratio 50%, the display color on the light emitting surface via a filter 3 is made orange and by shortening the pulse width of the red LED 1 and lengthening that of the green LED 2 the emitted light is made yellow.
