PURPOSE:To detect and register the current position of a mobile terminal equipment independently of the circulation of a circulation satellite by registering an area where two spot beam radiation areas are in duplicate as position information of the mobile terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:A mobile terminal equipment 1 receives two spot beam identification numbers BID307 and BID314 corresponding to spot beam radiation areas 30-7, 31-4 of circulating satellites 30, 21. The mobile terminal equipment 1 sends a spot beam identification number, a received time, and a terminal equipment identification number (unique information) of the mobile terminal equipment 1 to, e.g. a land earth station 2. The land earth station 2 transfers the information to an arithmetic unit 5. The arithmetic unit 5 calculates a duplicate area in which the radiation areas 30-7, 31-4 are overlapped with each other based on circulation information of all satellites and the information sets and estimates a range slightly wider than the duplicate area as the position of the mobile terminal equipment 1. The estimated area is transferred and registered in a data storage device 4.
