An arrangement is disclosed for protecting window structures from the action of elements and for improving the insulation value of the window. The existing window 2 is covered at a distance by an additional glass plane which is without a frame and has been fitted to cover the frame of the existing window at least partly. The additional panel is attached with hinges and there are seals between the pane and frame. Trimming (12) may be attached to the upper end side edges of the additional pane.
