PURPOSE:To enhance the magnetic characteristics by employing an R-M-Fe based mixture powder containing specified elements as a stabilizing element (M) having ThMn12 type crystal structure. CONSTITUTION:Required metal powders are mixed to contain 8-18at.% of R (R: at least one kind of rare earth element containing 50% or more of one or both of Pr and Nd), 66-89at.% of T(T: Fe substituted or not substituted partially by 50% or less of Co), 3.5-17at.% of M(M: containing at least one kind of V or Mo and/or substituted partially by 80% or less of Ti) The mixture is then subjected to mechanical ironing and thermal diffusion to obtain a powder of microcrystalline texture having RT<12-x>M2 of ThMn. type crystal structure as main phase. The powder is then subjected to nitriding at 400-60O deg.C in a mixture gas of 1-95mol.% of H2 and the remainder of N2 under the pressure of 0.2-10atm expressed for normal temperature thus obtaining an allay powder containing 7-18 at.% of R, 54-89 at.% 0T, 3.5-17at.% of M, and 3-12at.% of N. |
